Marco and I are still on the journey toward health! To help him control his carb intake, I decided to eat all the carbs in the house. He wasn’t so sure this was a good idea…he came into the office and found me with my snacks.
But really, we have been trying to limit the carbs and fat, and we actually ran the stairs at a local football field! I am so proud of us!
We’ve also cut out almost all alcohol and caffeine, so we are feeling a little healthier. I bought a lot of items at Trader Joe’s, but I was shocked to find that the beef and broccoli was loaded with carbs, while the orange chicken was healthier. Who would have guessed?
After our exercise tonight, we indulged in bean and cheese burritos with jalapenos added, from Miguel’s Jr. It was marvelous, and at least it’s real food…handmade tortillas, yummy beans, and enough jalapenos to give us heartburn later.
We went to the doctor together recently, and we were both warned about our health. The doctor told me I have a BMI of 29!! Normal is 19 to 25 for women. She said we just call that “fluffy.” If I was taller, I would be perfect. Maybe I’ll wear platform heels next time they measure my height.
But I do need to get serious about getting back to a healthy BMI. Although I love Christina Hendricks, my frame is not big enough to carry extra weight.
I hope to post some progress in my weight loss over the next few months. Since I finished all the ice cream, there’s not much left in the house to tempt me to overeat!
